EmpowerCanvas: Cultivating Resilience in At-Risk Youth through Art and Mindfulness

“EmpowerCanvas” seeks to create a nurturing and inclusive framework for at-risk youth facing socio-economic and cultural challenges, encompassing factors.

Objectives:

  • To increase the engagement of at-risk youth in mindful art activities and mindfulness resources to enhance their emotional well-being and build resilience for personal & professional growth.
  • To establish partnerships with at-risk youth centers and community organizations to facilitate participatory visit, workshops and reach a diverse group of at-risk youth.
  • To design and develop a resilience building board game that integrates art activities and mindfulness.
  • To create an online platform to equip youth workers with tools, and resources for building resilience through art and mindfulness in at-risk young people.
  • To carry out participatory visit in Portugal.
  • To hold 3 workshops to train youth workers on how to use platform and board game.

Expected results:

  1. ONLINE PLATFORM: comprehensive and accessible model for building resilience through art and mindfulness in at-risk young people.
  2. A board game complementing the online platform, providing an engaging and interactive tool for youth workers to facilitate discussions and activities with at-risk youth in person.
  3. 3 workshops to train 45 youth workers, educators on effectively utilizing the online platform and board game in their support
    programs.
  4. 2 day participatory visit in Portugal with 10 participants.
