YOUTH BUILD held its 2nd webinar on 12 August, focusing on resilience, mental health, safe adults and the ASSESS–BUILD–LEAD framework for youth empowerment.
Our vision is to empower young people from vulnerable communities by strengthening their psychosocial resilience. We envision a future where these youth possess the skills, support, and resources needed to overcome adversity, thrive amidst challenges, and become agents of positive change in their communities.
Research has shown that building psychosocial resilience is essential for supporting young people’s mental health, overall well-being, and personal development.
Resilience is the ability to adapt, recover, and maintain well-being in the face of adversity. It includes developing coping strategies, emotional regulation, problem-solving skills, and self-efficacy.
However, many young people from vulnerable groups—such as those with disabilities, marginalized or minority communities, trauma survivors, or those from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds—often lack access to the resources and support systems necessary to build resilience effectively.
The aim of our project, “Youth Build,” is to provide comprehensive psychosocial support to young people in vulnerable communities. We are committed to equipping them with the tools, confidence, and mindset needed to navigate and overcome life’s challenges. By enhancing their psychological and social well-being, we seek to foster resilience, strengthen self-esteem, and promote positive mental health outcomes.
To achieve this aim, Youth Build will focus on the following objectives:
Assess Resilience Levels:
Evaluate the psychosocial resilience of youth in vulnerable communities using the Resilience Assessment Compass.
Develop Strengths-Based Tools:
Create and implement Strengths-Based Coaching Cards to help youth identify and utilize their inherent strengths to overcome challenges.
Provide Psychosocial Support:
Deliver accessible support through online resources, workshops, and community support networks to enhance coping skills, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving abilities.
Promote Community Engagement and Leadership:
Encourage youth participation in decision-making, community projects, and advocacy initiatives to build leadership and civic responsibility.
Empower Peer Mentorship:
Develop guidelines and training for youth to become peer mentors and leaders within their communities.

YOUTH BUILD held its 2nd webinar on 12 August, focusing on resilience, mental health, safe adults and the ASSESS–BUILD–LEAD framework for youth empowerment.

Over 20 trainers and youth learners from across Europe joined the first YOUTH BUILD webinar on 30 July 2025 to explore resilience tools and youth challenges.

YOUTH BUILD partners met on July 17 in Poland for the final evaluation meeting, reviewing project results, piloting feedback and planning long-term use of resilience tools.

The YOUTH BUILD project successfully completed its piloting phase, with over 30 youth workers across Europe testing the Resilience Assessment Compass and Strengths-Based Coaching Cards. The tools proved practical, youth-friendly and effective for building trust, emotional expression and resilience, while feedback is shaping final improvements.

Discover the new leaflet on how to use Strengths-Based Resilience Coaching Cards in youth work. Learn how these cards help open conversations, focus on strengths, build trust and empower young people to understand themselves and take action.
